History tells us the league’s next crop of stars is full of draft steals who’ll turn classes from questionable to heralded and aimless franchises into contenders.

It’s difficult to pick the next Puka Nacua (2023 fifth round, No. 177 overall), Amon-Ra St. Brown (2021 fourth round, No. 112 overall) or Lamar Jackson (2018 first round, No. 32 overall) from 2025’s group of prospects.

But The Athletic’s NFL beat reporters know where the value lies from this year’s draft. They pick a potential draft steal worth watching for all 32 teams.

Arizona Cardinals: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
Round 2, No. 47

Atlanta Falcons: Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame
Round 3, No. 96

Baltimore Ravens: Aeneas Peebles, DT, Virginia Tech
Round 6, No. 210

Buffalo Bills: Landon Jackson, edge, Arkansas
Round 3, No. 72

Carolina Panthers: Cam Jackson, DT, Florida
Round 5, No. 140

Chicago Bears: Ozzy Trapilo, OT, Boston College
Round 2, No. 56

Cincinnati Bengals: Tahj Brooks, RB, Texas Tech
Round 6, No. 193

The running back value in this draft was just too good to pass up. Brooks had a fifth-round grade, but considering his production and elite agility, he could have gone much higher any other year. Brooks is built like a block of granite and ran for 1,500 yards and 5.2 yards per carry in each of his last two seasons, dropping in 27 touchdowns over that span. He ideally rounds out a running backs room headed by Chase Brown with veterans Samaje Perine and Zack Moss also available for snaps. — Paul Dehner Jr.
