A fter going undrafted, Shilo Sanders impressed Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Todd Bowles and signed a three-year, $2.96 million deal as an undrafted free agent, according to Spotrac. Now, he's making his debut in the Bucs' organized team activities (OTAs).

Shilo's first words to the media during Tampa Bay's OTAs were, "It's a good day for Buccaneers football," as reported by River Wells of BucsGameday on SI. It seems that the 25 year old safety is determined to make an impact and prove he deserves a spot on the team's final 53-man roster.

According to Wells, Haason Reddick, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Vita Vea and Christian Izien didn't take part in the Bucs' first OTAs practice.

Bowles impressed by Shilo in mini camp

During Tampa Bay's rookie minicamp, Shilo demonstrated a blend of athleticism, intelligence, and work ethic that impressed the Bucs coaching staff. His performance was especially impressive given the complexity of Bowles' defensive schemes , which have historically been a difficult challenge for rookies.

Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles has emphasized the importance of rookies adapting to the defensive playbook. "You want to come in in shape. You want to do the right things. You want to show growth," he said.

Shilo has impressed not only with his physical ability but also with his intelligence and mental strength . "Like the rest of the safeties, he's very intelligent, he's very loud. You can hear him making calls and everything, so he's got a good grasp of things. Day one, there were about three or four of them that did - he's one of them," Bowles said of Sanders.

"But you've got to make plays in pads, obviously, and that's what it comes down to - knowing what to do, then doing it consistently and constantly getting better every day," the Bucs Head Coach concluded.
