ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Christmas holiday is just around the corner and to celebrate, festive markets are popping up all across the city of Rockford.

Rockford City Market is hosting a Merry Market during the downtown Stroll on State event on Saturday, November 30th , from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Indoor City Market building, at 116 N. Madison Street. The event will feature two floors of vendors, live music, seasonal drinks, and holiday cheer.

City Market will also host a Vintage Holiday Popup on Saturday, December 7th , from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring vintage holiday items, live music, holiday cookie decorating, and a second Merry Market at the Indoor City Market building on Friday, December 13th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Swedish Historical Society will feature the Julmarknad: Swedish Christmas Market at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, at 3300 Rural Street, on Saturday, December 7th , from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be Swedish woodworking, textile and embroidery items, Scandinavian clothing, gifts, and more. A pancake breakfast including Swedish pancakes from the Stockholm Inn, will be available for $10.

The Redeemer Church Christmas Market will take place Saturday, December 7th , from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5501 Windsor Road, in Loves Park. Each year, the church partners with Gospel-centered organizations worldwide that provide products based on fair-trade practices, and donates the proceeds to the charity group Compassion International.

The Holiday Hustle Craft Show will occur at Midway Village Museum, at 6799 Guilford Road, on Saturday, December 7th , from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Over 40 vendors will present an array of items for sale.

Wolf Hollow Oddities is hosting its annual Krampus Yule Market , based on the legend of the Germanic Anti-Claus. That will take place Saturday, December 7th from 12 p.m to 6 p.m. at 3800 E. State Street Suite 103. Guest vendors will be selling their witchy wares, and “You may wish to bring a baby doll to appease the Krampus’ desire to steal your naughty children,” the store says.

Womanspace will host its annual There’s Something About Merry Holiday Artisan Market featuring more than 50 vendors from Rockford and the surrounding areas at its campus, at 3333 Maria Linden Drive. The event will be open on Thursday, December 5th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, December 6th , from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, December 7th , from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, December 8th , from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Prairie Street Brewing Co., at 200 Prairie Street, will present a Winter Handmade Market on Sunday, December 8th , from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature local and regional vendors selling crafted and handmade goods, including housewares, art, jewelry, toys, candles, soaps, clothing, and more.

The Norwegian, at 1402 N. Main Street, will host its annual Snomarket on Saturday, December 14th from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. The free event is open to the public and recreates the atmosphere of a Swedish fishing village, with horse-drawn carriage rides, herring toss and molkky games, and Viking stories told around the fire pit.
