Slow Food USA is hosting a huge three-day food festival in Denver this year. It will take place downtown on July 14-16, so keep your schedule clear!
For three days this July, Denver will become the center for North American food universe. Slow Food USA announced that they have chosen the beautiful city of Denver as the location for this year's Slow Food Nations, a food festival inspired by Slow Food's biennial Terra Madre event in Turin, Italy. Slow Food Nations is a national Slow Food USA event that gathers leaders and eaters, farmers and chefs, educators and families alike for a weekend full of tastings, tours and talks in July 2017. Attendees can participate in culinary workshops, seminars, dinners, tours, informal dining, and a taste marketplace.
Slow Food is a global grassroots organization founded in 1989 to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, contract the rise of fast life and combat people's dwindling interest in the food they eat. Since its beginnings, Slow Food has grown into a global movement involving millions of people in over 160 countries. They are working to ensure that everyone has access to good, clean, fair food. There are over 150 chapters in the USA.
So if you're free this July, come learn about the Slow Food cause and enjoy some good, clean, fair local food! Who knows? You just may find a local new favorite!
