Ready to get spooky now that it’s October? Check out our favorite sunset hikes that will leave you chilled and trilled.

There is really no better time to get outside than the fall. The temperature is cool, allowing you to soak up the sun without freezing, and the colors are always something to marvel at. There are a few spots around Colorado that make for the most perfect sunset hikes. Embrace the haunting vibe floating in the October air and check out some of these spooky October sunset hikes.   Mt. Falcon Sunset hikes Mt. Falcon is one of the most perfect sunset hikes you could ask for. Close to Denver right on the cusp of Morrison this sneaky little hike gives you a great view of both snowy peaks and all of Denver/pretty much all of Colorado. With the wide panoramic views you can get at the top of this easy hike, you’ll see a sunset you’ll never forget.     Cherry Creek State Park Sunset hikes This is not so much a “hike” as a sunset stroll. Cherry Creek State Park offers mind blowing and color-blasted sunset hikes. Walk through the park with your pup or a loved one (or both!) and take in all the colors and beauty the evening has to offer.   White Ranch Sunset Loop sunset hike A little farther out, White Ranch Sunset Loop is in Glenwood Springs and offers one of the greatest sunset hikes around. Wildflowers and peaks surround you as you hike around and let the sun fade away in a blast of pinks, purples, blues and oranges.   Mt. Evans Sunset hikes You can easily drive up Mt. Evans to experience this glorious sunset hike. Unfortunately, they close the gates to the peak after Labor day. You CAN, though, park at the scenic lake and watch the sunset melt over Mt. Evans peak. If you brought your headlamps you could hike up the side and really get some spectacular sunset goodness.   The Flatirons Sunset hikes The ever famous Flatirons in Boulder provide hikers all over with gorgeous views and spectacular examples of how awesome nature really is. The Flatirons are a prime example of how beautiful our Colorado can be, and will make you fall in love with taking sunset hikes.   As beautiful as these hikes are, you MUST be prepared while hiking near or around the dark or night time. Remember, it may be sunny and bright when you’re walking to SEE the sunset. But it will be dark on your way out. Plan accordingly, bring water and headlamps to ensure a safe and fun trip!
