While March is often thought of in terms of spring break for students, there was no rest for chefs and restaurateurs in metro Phoenix, with more than 40 new restaurant openings taking place over the last month.

In Phoenix, two beloved restaurateurs teamed up to open the state's only women-focused sports bar . In Scottsdale, a funky new restaurant is serving cocktails made with canned Spam. In Glendale, a new mom-and-pop restaurant offers a concise but mouthwatering menu of chicharrónes. And in Mesa, a new coffee shop makes lattes with sun-dried beans sourced from Yemen.

Cien Fuegos



Cien Fuegos is a new Mexican restaurant from the Casa Corazon Group. Menu highlights include enchiladas suizas, chile rellenos, chicken mole, brisket tacos and grilled fish of the day with crab, shrimp, scallops, creamy poblano sauce and chorizo. Dynamite Beer Co.



Cave Creek-based Dynamite Beer Co. has opened a second location in uptown Phoenix. In addition to plenty of beer and wine, they offer brats, stonebreads, salads, sandwiches and bar snacks like pretzels, nachos and almonds. There is also live music every Thursday and Saturday.

Green Chile Love



After gaining a following as a food truck, Green Chile Love opened its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Ahwatukee. Hatch green chile is the star of the menu, served in burritos, enchiladas, burgers, breakfast bowls and loaded fries.

JL Patisserie



French-trained Jenna Leurquin just opened a third location of JL Patisserie , her 2023 James Beard semifinalist for Outstanding Bakery . Offerings include sandwiches made with baguettes, brioche buns or croissants, plus a pastry case full of cakes, pies, macarons and cookies.

Lin's Grand Buffet



Lin's Grand Buffet opened its latest location in Phoenix. The buffet items range from Americanized Chinese dishes to seafood and sushi to Mongolian grilled dishes. There is also a fruit and salad bar and an assortment of desserts available.

Pasta Love



Pasta Love is a new restaurant offering takeout Italian food in north Phoenix. The Pemberton



The Pemberton reopened in downtown Phoenix in March, featuring a new lineup of art, food, and entertainment. Food options include pizzas, tacos, dip trios, fries and seafood dishes. There are also 50-cent chicken wings on Wednesdays.

Ricemill



Ricemill is a new fast-casual restaurant concept offering Asian-inspired rice bowls with beef, chicken, shrimp or veggies. Sana Sana Cerveceria is a new Mexican brewery that recently soft-opened on Roosevelt Row in Phoenix. The beer menu consists largely of Mexican lagers and other Latin flavors. There is no kitchen, but the bar hopes to host food trucks on site.

Someburros



Popular locally-owned Mexican chain Someburros is now open inside sections 115 and 314 at Chase Field, available during all Arizona Diamondbacks home games. Title 9 Sports Grill



Audrey Corley, the owner of 2024 Bar of the Year Boycott Bar and Dahlia Tapas , and Kat Moore, who owned Short Leash Hot Dogs , opened Title 9 Sports Grill , Phoenix's only women-focused sports bar. The food menu consists of upscale bar foods like chicken or cauliflower wings and unique smashburger sliders like a Thai peanut slider, Sloppy Janet and a chocolate cherry slider made with beef brisket, cocoa espresso, whipped brie, cherry compote and arugula.

Tom's Watch Bar



Colorado-based sports bar chain Tom's Watch Bar made its Arizona debut in downtown Phoenix near PHX Arena and Chase Field. Menu highlights include pickle-brined crispy chicken, Tom's famous prime rib dip, crispy chicken and cornbread pancakes, Walleye fish and chips, and golden fried shrimp. Bad Jimmy's



Popular food truck-turned-downtown Phoenix hot spot Bad Jimmy's has opened its second brick-and-mortar location in Scottsdale . Kura Sushi opened its third Arizona location in Scottsdale. The restaurant is known for its revolving sushi bar, which allows customers to serve themselves by grabbing plates that catch their eye as they roll by. Guests are charged per plate, but if you finish 15 plates, you win a prize. If sushi isn't your thing, you can also order hot dishes like soups and noodles off the touch screen menu at your table.

Liquor Pig



Liquor Pig is now open in Old Town Scottsdale. One of the most social media-worthy items on the menu is the Spam Folder cocktail, served in a Spam container, with a slice of actual Spam swimming in a tropical whiskey and rum concoction. The food menu is meat-heavy, including roasted bone marrow, veal pappardelle, shakshouka lamb meatballs and chimichangas with duck carnitas.
