This premier aquarium is gearing up for spring break visitors – and it’s just a road trip away from Michigan. Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium will offer extended spring break hours later this month, along with new exhibits, interactive programs and 32,000 animals on display. New exhibits include Water of Wonder in Shedd’s historic rotunda, and the buzzing rainforest at Amazon Rising. Wonder of Water invites you to marvel at the incredible diversity of life that water supports. Two towering habitats – one saltwater and one freshwater – represent ever-changing ecosystems with live corals, live plants and more than 6,500 fish. Nearby, wander through Amazon Rising and discover the unique adaptations of animals that live in an ecosystem that transforms twice a year. Come eye-to-eye with tiny poison dart frogs, a massive anaconda, bumpy dwarf caimans and more as you explore interactive displays. Visitors can enjoy more time at the aquarium during extended spring break hours as Shedd stays open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 22-30. Advanced ticket reservations are highly encouraged; Shedd’s plan-ahead pricing allows out-of-state guests to save money on admission by purchasing tickets early and selecting non-peak dates and times.
