COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - High temperatures reach the 70s once again today, with most of the Midlands around 80 degrees Wednesday. Good morning! High pressure across the Deep South takes control of our forecast today, helping temperatures rebound from our slightly cooler Saint Patrick’s Day. By this afternoon, under skies full of sunshine, high temperatures will reach the low and mid-70s. High pressure slides offshore Wednesday, but a southwest wind ahead of our next cold front will bring another surge of warm air into South Carolina. Skies will be mostly sunny, with high temperatures around 80 degrees! We’re tracking the arrival of our next cold front Thursday. Since our atmosphere hasn’t recovered since Sunday’s severe weather event, we aren’t anticipating strong storms. Rather, we’ll have a round of scattered showers move across the region. High temperatures will be cooler, only reaching the mid and upper-60s. Once this cold front clears offshore Thursday evening, high pressure builds in behind it, giving us some nice weather for the end of your work week. High temperatures will rebound again this weekend, with highs back in the 70s. Today: Lots of sunshine. Highs in the low and mid-70s. Tonight: Mostly clear skies. Lows in the low-40s.
