The Springfield Police Department and Springfield Firefighters were honored by department leadership and Mayor Misty Buscher for their courageous and compassionate actions during a high-risk crisis response on April 8, 2025.

On that day, officers and firefighters responded to a call involving a person in crisis. Their quick thinking, teamwork, and shared commitment to preserving life led to a safe resolution of the situation.

Officer Cooper was the first to arrive on the scene and immediately began building rapport with the individual.
