Here are some key retail and business openings and closings for the St. Louis area in March.

Openings



This drive-thru coffee shop offers coffee, “chillers,” teas, infused energy drinks, sodas and other beverages.

Anthropologie closed its St. Louis Galleria location last month to relocate to Plaza Frontenac.

The pizza chain was founded by Andrew DeWitt, son of St. Louis Cardinals Chairman William DeWitt Jr., and is based in Ohio.

The sports equipment chain will become Orchard Town Center’s first anchor tenant at 50,000 square feet. The $70 million shopping center is headed by Overland-based developer The Staenberg Group.

The drive-thru will be open Sunday through Thursday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Eclectic Treasures and Gallery sells stones, crystals, jewelry and art. Folks can also book private tarot card readings.

Fresh Karmas is a Missouri-based cannabis dispensary chain. This new location marks the chain’s fourth dispensary in the state.

Glo offers both UV and spray tanning services in addition to body facials, red light therapy and more.

This new business includes hitting bays, a putting green, a golf services desk, instruction from a PGA professional and gear.

A new European-inspired brewpub opened in Olivette recently. The brewery focuses on brewing traditional beer style and alpine-inspired cuisine.

JD Sports is an athletic retailer that sells brands like Nike, Adidas, Jordan and New Balance.

After operating as a pop-up shop and then a soft opening, this independent bookstore officially opened at the beginning of the month.

Mattress Dogzzz opened its second location in March. The store sells brands such as Beautyrest, Tempur-Pedic, Nectar, Dream Cloud, King Koil and Sealy.

This Texas-based burger chain debuted in Missouri this month. Founded in 2007, MOOYAH is known for its burgers, hand-cut fries and hand-spun milkshakes.

After a 2022 fire displaced a number of Central West End businesses, Pass the Past Coffee opened near its former shop.

This vintage market relocated to a larger space in Frenchtown in St. Charles. It is open the first weekend of each month.

This chain specializes in gourmet cupcakes. The shop also sells ice cream, cakes and cookie sandwiches.

This refurbished events venue celebrated its grand opening with a vendor market and ghost hunt.

Closings



After two decades, the owners of Big Daddy’s 618 have retired. The Soulard and Edwardsville locations will continue to operate.

After opening at the City Foundry’s food hall in late 2023, Century Coffee Co. closed at the end of March.

The Gelateria is closed as it recovers from a fire that started in the basement before taking over the cafe and other parts of the building.

The Last Hotel, in the historic International Shoe Co. building, closed suddenly this month. Its owners are in an ongoing legal dispute.

Orpheum Cleaners remains closed after a fire that started at its neighbor, The Gelateria.

As a whole, Walgreens is closing 1,200 branches nationwide, citing prescription reimbursement rates as one of the reasons.
