ST. LOUIS — City officials are hoping to secure an additional $4.3 million to pay for repairs at a deteriorating downtown garage. Engineers and construction workers have spent more than two years studying and repairing the more than 40-year-old garage at 400 North Sixth Street just off Washington Avenue. The St. Louis Centre East public parking garage serves employees of several downtown companies, including Stifel Financial.About $4.1 million would go to Western Speciality Contractors, which is performing the repairs, and about $283,000 would go to CDG Engineers Inc., which has provided engineering drawings and has overseen the repairs, according to city documents. The money would come from the garage's reserve funding, documents show. The Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority board is expected to review the request at its meeting Tuesday.
