ST. LOUIS — City officials have kicked off an annual solicitation for ideas on how to spend about $1.4 million in federal grant money for homeless services. The Emergency Solutions Grant money is one piece of more than $10 million in federal grants that flow through the city's Department of Human Services each year, and helps pay for emergency shelter, outreach to people on the street, rapid rehousing of people losing their homes, and data collection, among other things.Proposals are due to the city at 4 p.m. on April 2.
