WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - After an unseasonably cool and wet Easter Sunday, today will be dry and much warmer. Chilly wake-up temperatures in the 30s and 40s will soar into the middle 70s this afternoon under mainly sunny skies. Temperatures will trend even higher on Tuesday, into the upper 70s and lower 80s before storm chances return during the evening. Some of the storms, especially along and south of Highway 50 may be severe, producing large hail and damaging wind gusts. We will remain in an unsettled weather pattern through the week and into the weekend. While timing each round of rain and storms will be a challenge, it currently looks like Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday have the better chances of getting wet. Despite the storm chances, the week ahead will be warm with highs generally in the 70s, or near normal for late April. However, we may briefly dip into the 60s on Friday before climbing back into the 70s this weekend. Wed: Low: 56. High: 74. Decreasing clouds; overnight storms possible. Thu: Low: 58. High: 73. Mostly cloudy; chance of overnight storms. Sat: Low: 50. High: 68. Mostly cloudy. Sun: Low: 56. High: 74. Mostly cloudy; chance of afternoon storms.
