Many would say a stay at home mom's job is priceless, but if you had to put a number to it how much would mom's salary be?
According to a recent study by Salary.com it is projected that a stay at home mom would earn about $143,102 per year. It is true that the care and love from a mother is priceless and the overtime is often overlooked. There really is no way to put a price on being a mother, but Salary.com estimated the daily job duties performed by a stay at home mom and was able to construct a typical mom's salary. How did they come up with this number? Salary.com separated the tasks and roles into two specific categories. The first being a more traditional mom's roles and then a modern mom's roles. A traditional mom generally performs tasks such as facilities manager, computer operator, janitor, personal driver, launderer, event planner/coordinator, interior designer, nutritionist, chef, plumber, nurse, psychologist, and last but certainly not least chief executive officer.
The modern mom performs all of the roles as a traditional mom in addition to athletic trainer, coach, tax accountant, teacher, education role model, social media manager, photographer, judge, and therapist. For a 40 hour week the base salary was exactly $48,509. However, the overtime of an additional 52 hours per week adds up to be a total of $94,593. If you combine the two, you get a whopping $143,102.
