COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A summer-like weather pattern has returned to South Carolina, with “feels-like” temperatures in the triple digits. Good morning! High pressure offshore continues to feed moisture into the Southeast, giving us a hot and humid start to our work week. Into the afternoon, we’ll have a blend of clouds and sunshine. Highs will top out in the low-90s, with “feels-like” temperatures near the triple digits when you factor in the humidity. Once we reach the peak heat and humidity of the afternoon, we’ll watch for a couple of summer-like, pop-up thunderstorms. The coverage of these will be limited, which means a lot of us will stay dry all day. High pressure strengthens offshore throughout this week, which means our summer-like pattern will continue. We’ll have high temperatures in the low and mid-90s, with “feels-like” temperatures climbing into the triple digits. While a lot of us will stay dry, most afternoons this week will have a chance of a pop-up storm or two. Our first Heat Advisory of the season may be needed at some point this week. In order for a Heat Advisory to be issued, we need “feels-like” temperatures between 108 and 112 degrees for at least 2 or more hours. Today: A blend of clouds and sunshine with isolated thunderstorms in the late-afternoon and evening. Chance of rain 30%. Highs in the low-90s. Tonight: A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible before Midnight. Otherwise, partly cloudy skies. Lows in the mid-70s. Tuesday: Partly cloudy skies. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible.
