By Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow —The following is a list of criminal court complaints recently filed by the Sumner County Attorney’s office.

These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000280. Year of Birth: 1987.

Address: Kansas City, Kans. Date of the alleged crime : Aug. 30, 2024.

1 — Driving under the influence (second), Class A misdemeanor.

2 — Possession of a firearm under the influence, Class A misdemeanor.

3 — Transporting open containers, unclassified misdemeanor.

4 — Speeding, traffic infraction.

Description: Medrano is accused of operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .29 while possessing a loaded 9mm firearm in the duffle bag sitting in the passenger seat. He also allegedly was transporting a 24-ounce can of Steel Reserve Spiked Pineapple while driving 99 miles per hour in a 75 mph zone.

Address: Hunnewell, Kans. Date of the alleged crime : Oct. 19, 2024.

1 — Criminal deprivation of a motor vehicle, Class A misdemeanor.

2 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Chitwood is accused of taking a 2011 Nissan Frontier pickup without permission from the owner and then abandoning it when the owner gave chase. He allegedly damaged the vehicle’s fender, with an estimated damage of $300.

1 — Interference with law enforcement (fleeing), Class A misdemeanor.

Description: Deere is accused of fleeing on foot from a state law enforcement officer trying to stop him because of a misdemeanor altercation within the Kansas Star Casino.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000283. Year of Birth: 2024.

Address: Conway Springs. Date of the alleged crime : July 31, 2024.

1 — Aggravated battery, level 4 felony.

Description: Hunt is accused of, during a domestic argument with her husband, of using a knife to cause a deep laceration to his arm and a stab or puncture wound to his left chest.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000284. Year of Birth: 1980.

Address: Homeless in Wellington. Date of the alleged crime : Sept. 13, 2024.

1 — Violation of protective order.

Description: Stoddard is accused of violating a protection from abuse order by driving past the protected person at her place of employment, yelling an insult at her, and then swiping his finger across his throat in a cutting gesture.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000285. Year of Birth : 1990.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime : Oct. 6, 2024.

1 — Possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor.

2 — Criminal trespass, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Bodner is accused of possessing six grams of marijuana while trespassing in a building at 102 W. Hillside in Wellington. He allegedly entered the building through access to the roof.

1 — Battery on a law enforcement officer causing bodily harm, level 7 felony.

2 — Interference with law enforcement (resisting arrest), Class A misdemeanor.

3 — Criminal trespass, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Callender is accused of grabbing a Wellington Police Department officer by both legs and pulling him to the ground, causing injury to a knee and tearing his uniform. He also allegedly tried to flee the officers for allegedly trespassing until he slipped on wet gravel and fell. He is also accused of entering a 2024 Ford F150 pickup belonging to Elkhorn Packing without permission.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000287. Year of Birth : 1982.

Address: Ponca City, Okla. Date of the alleged crime : Oct. 24, 2024.

1 — Violation of protective order, Class A misdemeanor.

2 — Interference with law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000288. Year of Birth : 2002.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime : Nov. 3, 2024.

1 — Criminal threat, level 9 felony.

2 — Criminal deprivation of a motor vehicle, Class A misdemeanor.

Description: Morgan is accused of attempting to take it from her while another person was making food, and she told him no. He then allegedly threatened to kill her. He then is accused of getting permission to drive a 2017 Kia Soul, but when the owner asked for him to return it, he refused and only did so when law enforcement got involved.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000289. Year of Birth : 1979.

Address: Belle Plaine. Date of the alleged crime : Nov. 2, 2024.

1 — Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor.

2 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Shoemaker is accused of, during an argument with his wife, shoving her into the door, causing damage to the door jamb.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000290. Year of Birth : 1988.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime : June 15, 2024.

1 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

2 — Interference with law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.

3 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

4 — Possession of methamphetamine, drug level 5 felony.

Description: Zimmerman is accused of stealing candles, candy, and a Dr. Pepper soda. She allegedly asked the clerk if she could “bill her” for the items. The defendant then allegedly walked out of the front door without paying when told that isn’t how it works. When apprehended by law enforcement, Zimmerman allegedly wouldn’t give them contact information. When being searched, it was determined, according to the complaint, that she possessed .7 grams of methamphetamines in a plastic bag.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000291. Year of Birth : 1984.

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime : Oct. 25, 2024.

1 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Description: Dunaway is accused of putting chicken down his pants at Love’s Travel Stop in Belle Plaine. When Love’s employees told him he needed to pay for it, he declined and exited the store.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000292. Year of Birth : 2004.

Address: Arkansas City. Date of the alleged crime : Oct. 2, 2024.

1 — Battery, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Erwin is accused of getting into an altercation in front of the Oxford Police Department and can be seen on a surveillance camera shoving a shirt into the victim’s face. The victim had redness on her face, consistent with being struck.

Case Number: SU-2024-CR-000294. Year of Birth : 1983.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime : Oct. 12, 2024.

1 — Interference with law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.

Description: Spence is accused of refusing to comply with officer’s orders while walking around at Pioneer Cemetery which led to officers having to physically restrain him.
