Aside from sunshine and snow Colorado is known for another natural occurrence. Wildfires. This newly approved supertanker will help assist in combatting the devastation they cause.
Based out of Colorado Springs, a new machine has been developed to assist in fighting wildfires around Colorado. The Supertanker is a Boeing 747-400 that has been outfitted to deploy agents designed to combat and control wildfires.
The craft was approved on an interim base, to be used to fight wildfires on federal land. This mean-time basis will allow the owners to work through the appropriate contracts with the U.S. Forest Service for the upcoming wildfire season.
