The Alabama Supreme Court upheld the denial of an appeal filed by the former UAH professor convicted of a deadly shooting in 2010.

Court records show the decision was filed Friday in Amy Bishop Anderson's case.

This comes after Bishop appealed her guilty-plea convictions for one count of capital murder and three counts of attempted murder as well as her resulting sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole for her capital murder conviction and life in prison for each of her attempted murder convictions.

The appeal was previously denied by lower courts before being sent to the Alabama Supreme Court.

Bishop was arrested after opening fire during a staff meeting, killing Gopi Padilla, Maria Ragland-Davis, and Adriel Johnson. Three others were injured as well.

It happened on Feb. 12, 2010.
