Dogs in Denver have a tail-wagging good time outside, according to a survey conducted by Rover.

Great news for our four-legged friends! Pet services company Rover conducted a survey of 5,000 dog owners and determined that pet owners in Denver are the most active.

The survey revealed that Denver dogs and their owners are more likely to hike and play tug-of-war together than the other cities surveyed. That should come as no surprise since Denver is well-known as a dog-loving, adventurous city! From expansive dog parks to challenging dog-friendly trails, Denver—and Colorado in general—is a welcoming place for man's best friend.

Rover included 10 cities in the survey: Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, and San Francisco. The survey ranked cities based on five personality traits: active, indulgent, obsessed, sociable, and eco-friendly.

Here's how Denver ranked with the other traits:

  • Most indulgent: #8
  • Most obsessed: #10
  • Most sociable: #9
  • Most eco-friendly: #7

According to the survey, Denver dog owners ranked last for most obsessed as they were least likely to let Fido sleep in bed with them and to miss their dog when they leave the house.

"Positioned near the Rocky Mountains, it should come as no surprise that dog owners in Denver are more likely to hike alongside their dog (74%) than owners in other cities," writes Rover.
