The Orlando Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a brutal home invasion that occurred in Orlando Friday afternoon.

According to the OPD, officers were called to a home on the 2300 block of Caribbean Court for a home invasion around 1:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31. The OPD said the victim was found by her husband severely battered, pressing on the horn inside their vehicle in the home's garage. The victim's husband called 911 and said an unknown Black man had forcibly entered their home and attacked his wife.

Orlando police detectives identified the suspect as Ronald D. Davis, 55, of Orlando. He was found sleeping inside a shed on a residential property a few miles away from the victim's home. According to police, Davis had been released from prison in June 2024 after serving a 15-year sentence for burglary of a dwelling with assault and battery, as well as robbery.

Davis is now facing charges of home invasion robbery with a weapon, aggravated battery with a weapon and aggravated battery on a person over 65 with great bodily harm.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where she is in critical condition.
