Columbia police are investigating after someone shot a man near the Benton-Stephens neighborhood Friday night.

Lt. Derek Moore told ABC 17 News on scene that a man had been shot in the 900 block of Moss Street. First responders found the victim with a wound to the leg nearby on the west side of Old 63 North near McAlester Street. Moore said the wound wasn't life-threatening.

Moore said officers detained a suspect in the shooting. He said there was no further threat to the public.
