A suspicious item discovered at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport prompted an evacuation on Tuesday morning, according to Ken Boyle, deputy executive director of the Springfield Airport Authority. "In the 0900 hour, TSA found a suspicious item and had everyone evacuate till it was checked and cleared," said Boyle. The Transportation Security Administration, along with airport police, the Secretary of State, and the Springfield Police Department, responded to the incident. After the item was cleared, passengers were allowed to return through security. Some flights experienced delays, but operations are getting back on track.
