Multiple schools were temporarily placed on lockdown in Coconut Grove after a swatting call was made late Wednesday morning, police said.

Just before 10:50 a.m., City of Miami Police received a report of a possible shooting at 3575 Main Hwy, which is now believed to have been a swatting call.

Out of an abundance of caution, nearby schools — including Ransom Everglades Middle and High Schools, along with Carrollton of the Sacred Heart — were placed on lockdown after the threat was made.

Chopper 4 was over the scene at Ransom, where several police officers were seen investigating the area.

Miami Police told CBS News Miami that officers conducted a thorough search of the school and the surrounding area, but found no evidence of any threats.

Police also confirmed that all lockdowns were lifted just after 11:30 a.m.

According to academic calendars, Ransom held its commencement for graduating seniors on May 23. The last day of school is June 3.
