After playing three straight seasons for Florida State women's basketball, junior guard Ta'Niya Latson has put her name in the transfer portal per Klutch Sports Group . This was after FSU lost to LSU on Monday during the second round of the NCAA Women's Basketball tournament. Latson finished her junior year leading the country in scoring, averaging 25.2 points a game. The three-time ACC performer was named second-team AP All-American, and is a semifinalist for the Naismith Player of the Year and a finalist for the 2025 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award for the third time in her career. Latson's departure leaves head coach Brooke Wyckoff with another gaping hole to address, as seniors Makayla Timpson and O'Mariah Gordon have also played their final game as Seminoles. Latson will be in FSU's history books. She led an offensive team that was third in the country in scoring, averaging 86.7 points a game. FSU broke the school record with seven 100-point games. After dropping 30 points against the Tigers, she owned the single-season record in scoring. She is second all-time in scoring in school history and first in free throws made. She also owns the record for most points in a game after dropping 40 against Virginia Tech and is the third-fastest junior in ACC history to reach 2,000 points. Some of her best moments include her game-winner against UNC and beating the third-ranked Notre Dame on the road. She also recorded her first career triple-double against Gonzaga during the Paradise Jam Championship. FSU finished the season 24-9 (13-5 in the ACC).
