Target shoppers may soon find themselves dodging turtle shells and banana peels! The retail store is going full Mario in anticipation of the new game's release.

Remember last summer when Pokemon Go was all the rage, and some Target locations saw giant PokeBalls appear outside their stores? It appears the retail store is still keeping up with video game trends, and now they're focusing on Mario! These new carts (or should we say karts?) are coming in anticipation of "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe," which will be released for the Switch console on April 28. https://twitter.com/Target/status/855439417691054080 Starting on April 20, a collection of shopping carts have been redesigned to resemble Mario Karts. The new Karts feature characters like Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. Those giant red balls have been redesigned as well, now featuring the faces of Mario and Luigi. Store entrances are decorated to resemble the starting lines in the game. According to the company, as customers walk through the starting line, lights will flash and Mario's theme song will play.
The newest installment to the Mario universe has received positive reviews thus far, and will be available on April 28 (though if the hype around the Switch's release is any indicator, you'll definitely want to preorder it!).
