Tennessee football can decide its postseason fate Saturday.
The No. 8 Vols (9-2, 5-2 SEC) play at Vanderbilt (6-5, 3-4) on Saturday (noon ET, ABC) at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville.
A win sets Tennessee up to be the College Football Playoff and a loss likely keeps it from reaching the CFP. The Vols have not lost to Vanderbilt under coach Josh Heupel. Heupel has a 3-0 mark against the
Commodores . UT has won five straight against Vanderbilt, including the past two in Nashville.

Adam Sparks
Tennessee 27, Vanderbilt 20 : Vandy has held its opponents under 30 points in six straight games, and Tennessee isn't as explosive as past seasons. But the Vols will be comfortable running the ball and playing strong red-zone defense, as they have all season, to punch their ticket to the playoff.
Tennessee 23, Vanderbilt 21: Max Gilbert banks a game-winning field goal off the left upright and into the construction zone at FirstBank Stadium to send Tennessee somewhere cold for the first round of the College Football Playoff.
John Adams
Tennessee 24, Vanderbilt 13: The Commodores haven’t come closer than 18 points to the Vols in a five-game series losing streak. This game still could be close in the last 10 minutes if Diego Pavia, who has played through injuries, can stay on the field. Most quarterbacks haven’t finished what they started against UT’s aggressive defense.
Cora Hall
Tennessee 34, Vanderbilt 31: This is one of the most meaningful games against Vanderbilt in years for Tennessee, and it’ll live up to the hype. The Vols will get out of Nashville with a win, but not without giving fans a few gray hairs Saturday.
Gentry Estes
Tennessee 23, Vanderbilt 16: If Vols can run the ball and stop the run and limit their own mistakes, they should win. Don’t think it’ll be easy, though.
