On August 5, 2017, former running back Terrell Davis became the fifth Bronco to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

In one of the shortest NFL careers by a player inducted into the Hall of Fame, Terrell Davis officially became the fifth Denver Bronco to don the prestigious gold jacket in the 2017 ceremony in Canton, Ohio, on August 5. Davis stood amongst greats like Kurt Warner and LaDainian Tomlinson. View the entire Class of 2017 here. Surrounded by his family, former teammates, and coaches, Davis delivered a moving speech about his life's journey and how it had an impact on his career.
I loved the physicality of the game, but I had also convinced myself that playing football provided me a way to gain my dad's approval by proving I was tough. That's what drove me. I loved the game, and gaining my dad's approval."
He went on to say that his dad never saw him play in the NFL and questions if he gained his respect. "Dad, I hope you're looking down, smiling, and uttering the words: 'Son, I'm proud of you,'" Davis said. You can view the entirety of Davis' speech here.
