2016 was a big year. Beyoncé released Lemonade . Leonardo DiCaprio finally got his Oscar. And the Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Chicago’ dropped. Considered by many to be one of the greatest Air Jordans ever, if you (like pretty much everyone) took a L nine years ago, you'll be glad to hear that it's restocking just in time to celebrate Jordan Brand's big 40th birthday. Back in '85, when Michael Jordan and Nike first linked up, the ‘Chicago’ was one of the very first colourways to hit the Air Jordan 1 High. In 2016, the power duo unleashed a more lifestyle-focused low-top version. And while they knew it was going to be pretty hype-y, they probably didn't expect it sell out so fast. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Chicago’ flew off shelves. According to StockX data , even though it dropped about a decade ago, trainer guys are still paying about £3k to get 'em. That's a lot of cash, but this is a lot of sneaker. But if you don't have 3 Gs just casually lying about, the upcoming re-release shouldn't be missed. Decked out in full leather, the ‘Chicago’ comes in the classic ‘Varsity Red’ and ‘Summit White’ colour combo. ‘Black’ accents hit the collar, laces, and mandatory Swoosh, you'll find the mythical winged basketball emblem around the heel. Underneath, the shoe rests on top of a crisp rubber midsole, and this is infused with Air tech to keep things nice and bouncy. And the ‘Chicago’ isn't the only holy grail that's coming back. MJ's original ‘Black Toe’ and ‘Bred’ will also be restocking, while mega collabs like the Undefeated x Air Jordan 4 are also expected to return. Basically, if you're a Jordanhead, 2025 is going to be a very good year for your collection (and a bad one for your bank account).
