Auditions are this Saturday, August 10, at the Pepsi Center and we have everything you need to know!

The Skyline Drumline is a big part of the Denver Nuggets' game night experience and brings out high levels of excitement and team spirit for Nuggets fans. And now, you have the opportunity to get in on the action! Those who think they have the drumming skills to do so are invited to audition to be a part of the 2019 Skyline Drumline.

In a press release, the Denver Nuggets Game Presentation Department extends an invitation out to auditions, which are being held this Saturday, August 10, at 11 a.m. Auditions will be held at the Pepsi Center, with warm-up and registration beginning at 10 a.m.

From the press release:

“The Skyline Drumline’s mission is to engage and entertain Nuggets fans through offensive and defensive beats, pre- and postgame performances around Pepsi Center, and as featured entertainers during the game. In addition, the Skyline Drumline will be called upon to perform at Nuggets sponsored events in the community.”

There are some qualifications that all drummers must meet:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to sight-read music for your instrument.
  • Must have high energy and a desire to perform in front of large groups.
  • Must have some drumline experience (high school, college, or drum corps).
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation.

The audition piece is "Gold Rush" and you can find sheet music and audio file, and all the audition rules, waiver, and details on the audition website, as well as fill out the preregistration form. This is required to audition, so make sure you fill it out before you go!

Drummers are reminded that this is a performance-based drumline, and they want the best most energetic drum performers out there for this one. Performers are asked to wear athletic clothing and be prepared to perform a 30- to 60-second solo, as well as an interview. Candidates are asked to bring a performance resume, sticks and/or mallets, and a practice pad.
