The transfer portal is open again and will remain so until Friday, April 25. This is the final chance for players to enter the portal and potentially transfer to another school before the 2025 season.
Arizona State has been a big player in the transfer portal since its inception in 2017, but coach Kenny Dillingham has done a good job of building depth within the program. The team is coming off an 11-3 showing that included a surprising Big 12 championship. The team is returning 16 starters and most players with significant playing time, so there aren't many positions of need for now. The offensive line is always a spot where a team would add a player if a good one were to become available. ASU could use another long snapper because it only has one on the roster. But don't look for any major additions elsewhere.
Outgoing players
QB Navi Bruzon (R-Fr., 5-10, 195, walkon) : The Liberty HS product was a true freshman in 2024 and did not see any playing time, so he used his redshirt. He was buried on the depth chart and likely wasn't going to see playing time any time soon. Four years of eligibility remaining.
OL Connor Cameron (R-Fr., 6-6, 300, walkon) : The product of Campo Verde High School did not see any playing time in 2024 as a true freshman. Four years of eligibility remaining.
DT J.P. Deeter (R-Jr., 6-3, 280) : The 2024 season was Deeter's first at ASU after transferring from Purdue. He saw action in 12 games, all as a reserve, and managed two tackles. He had been seeing time with the second-team in practices, but ASU had three other defensive tackles who would be key to the rotation and not taking part because of minor injuries. He was likely going to be buried on the depth chart. Three years of eligibility remaining.
OL Kaden Haeckel (R-Fr., 6-5, 310, walkon) : Another product of Liberty HS. It was unlikely he would see significant minutes this season. Four years of eligibility remaining.
RB Alton McCaskill (R-Sr., 6-1, 205) : McCaskill was part of a deep running back contingent. ASU was his third college stop after Houston and Colorado. He was with the team last season but had just seven carries for 17 yards as he was still battling his way through nagging injuries. One year of eligibility remaining.
WR Justice Spann (R-Fr., 6-2, 215, walkon) : Spann is another player buried on a depth chart. He was with the program one year but did not record any statistics. Four years of eligibility remaining.
WR Max Ware (R-Jr., 6-1, 195, walkon) : The Brophy Prep product saw action in two games but did not record a catch. He was with ASU for three years, with 2022 being a redshirt season. Two years of eligibility remaining.
