The Kansas City Chiefs retained a key piece of their special teams unit on Friday by officially re-signing veteran linebacker Jack Cochrane, who has won two Super Bowl rings with the team since 2022. Cochrane first joined the Chiefs as a free agent after the 2022 NFL draft following an impressive collegiate career with the South Dakota Coyotes in which he earned All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors in 2019 and 2021. During his first three seasons in Kansas City, Cochrane has started in one game and tallied a total of 42 combined tackles in 47 games. Though Cochrane has experience playing as a linebacker for Kansas City's defense, the majority of his time on the field in the NFL has come on special teams, where he has played a total of 895 snaps over the last three seasons, according to Pro Football Reference . Stay tuned to see how Cochrane will figure into defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's plans for the 2025 season.
