They've found her. The Miami teen whose threats caused school closures throughout the Denver metro area on Wednesday has been found dead.

According to Denver's CBS4, 18-year-old Sol Pais has been located near the Echo Lake Lodge, at the base of Mount Evans. Law enforcement is also confirming that she is dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The search for Pais was focused on the Mount Evans area after there were reports that a woman matching Pais's description was running naked through the forest holding a firearm.

The bizarre events began on Monday evening when Pais reportedly arrived in Denver, purchased a gun, and made some kind of threat that, when communicated to the Colorado Department of Education, resulted in a lockout of schools throughout the metro area on Tuesday afternoon and widespread closure of schools all day on Wednesday. Pais was known to be "obsessed" with the Columbine shootings, the 20th anniversary of which will be Saturday, April 20.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
