ST. LOUIS — A third person has been charged in the death of Colin Brown, the teenage hockey player who was fatally shot while riding with his father on Interstate 55 last November. Diamond Marshaevia Baucom, 27, of Maryland Heights, is accused of first-degree murder and other felonies, according to court records. Records indicate she was indicted Thursday in the case by a grand jury. Previously charged in December with murder were Donovan M. Baucom, 28, of Bel-Ridge, and Garrett Jordan, 26, of St. Louis. They also were listed in Thursday's grand jury indictment. St. Louis police declined to comment Friday night on whether Diamond Baucom is related to Donovan Baucom. Court documents filed late last year in the Donovan Baucom case said Donovan Baucom was driving the Audi from which the deadly shots were fired on Nov. 23. The documents also said police found the Audi at a residence owned by Baucom's sister, whose name was not included.

She told officers she had given Donovan Baucom permission to drive the car on the day of the murder, the documents said. Police, in a news release late Friday afternoon, announced that Diamond Baucom had been arrested in the case but gave no details on her alleged involvement. Court records said a judge ordered that she be held without bond. Colin Brown and his father were headed north on I-55, on the way home to O'Fallon, Illinois, from a hockey game in Affton, when Colin was hit by a stray bullet. He died days later at a hospital. Colin, 16, was a Christian Brothers College High School student and a standout hockey player. Police said Jordan's phone and area video identified him in the Audi before, during and after the shooting on I-55, according to charging documents. Authorities also said data from Donovan Baucom's phone showed him with Jordan throughout the day leading up to the shooting. Charging documents said Jordan left his home on Minnesota Avenue in an Audi the night of Nov. 23 and followed a car onto I-55. The car being followed also had been at the home on Minnesota and the driver told police he was shot at in the same area and time as was Colin, authorities said. Police have said it appeared that multiple shooters fired at the car Jordan was following. Evidence seized on I-55 included more than 20 cartridge casings that were matched to a handgun and a rifle. Thursday's grand jury indictment also charged the three defendants with armed criminal action, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
