Curious to see what your civil servants and state employees make? This new database allows you to see just that.
Have you ever wondered what some of your elected officials make on an annual basis? How about college department heads, mayors, and other civil servants? Just recently, the Washington Business Journal has rolled out a database that lets you search the salaries of thousands of state employees in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Everyone from your local elected officials to civil servants can be looked up and salaries compared.
There are about 150,000 different positions you can search, and the results of anyone making $50,000 a year or more will show up for you.

You can also browse through the 25 largest state salaries in the region of greater Washington, D.C., by clicking here. Interestingly enough, this list is comprised mainly of higher education employees.
It should also be noted that the salary rates listed for athletic coaches only encompasses what the state pays out. Other forms of payment from sponsors and supplemental income is not included. This additional income can often tip some employees well into the multi-million dollar range.
