ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC)—Thousands of students across Minnesota will have a different experience heading to class on Wednesday because it’s walk-to-school day. The annual event is sponsored by Minnesota Safe Routes to School. The organization encourages kids and parents to try a healthy habit that increases physical activity and strengthens connections between families, schools and communities. More than 170 schools are involved this year, including Sunset Terrace Elementary with Rochester Public Schools. It’s having a celebration Wednesday morning for those taking part.
