OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City Police say three people have been arrested following a traffic stop Saturday night. Shortly before 8 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle near N. Division Street and Baltimore Avenue. While speaking with the four occupants, officers reportedly smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, and confirmed that all occupants were under the age of 21 and not legally allowed to possess marijuana. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded handgun inside the car, and two more loaded handguns were found in the possession of one of the suspects, identified as 20-year-old Tyshawn Yerby. Officers also discovered marijuana in the vehicle and on one of the occupants. Two of the handguns were later determined to have been reported stolen in Baltimore County in 2023. A total of three individuals, including Yerby, 20-year-old Oreese Stevenson Jr., and a 17-year-old juvenile, were subsequently arrested and taken to the Worcester County Jail. Yerby was charged with ten handgun related offenses and theft of property valued between $100 and $1500, and held without bond. Stevenson was charged with five handgun related offenses and theft of property valued between $100 and $1500, and was held without bond. The juvenile was charged as an adult with five handgun related offenses and theft of property valued between $100 and $1500. The juvenile was held without bond.
