I have been whining for a long time about beer festivals not offering wine, and my husband has been moaning about wine festivals not offering beer! Little did we know, Capital Brewfest (a beer AND wine festival!) is here to kill two livers with one stone! If this type of fest is right up your alley, keep reading: we have all the deets below. WHEN: Saturday, March 31, 2018 WHERE: Union Market, 1309 5th St. NE (If riding metro, take the red line to the No-Ma Gallaudet U station). WHAT: Capital Brewfest is a D.C. beer and wine festival and the perfect kick-off to spring! There will be 37 craft beers, 24 wines, eight ciders, six food trucks, two bands, one DJ, and countless people gettin' their spring "drank" on! Some of the breweries that'll be there include Schlafly, Anderson Valley, Alpine Brewing, 21st Amendment, Green Flash, Shipyard, Left Coast, Sea Dog, Alewerks, Lost Rhino, Port City, Evolution, and more!
Wines will include Ministry of the Vinterior (Chardonnay and Zinfandel, Sonoma County), Whoa Nelly (Chardonnay Oregon), Tololo (Sauvignon Blanc, Chile), Bodkin (Sauvignon Blanc, North Coast), Ca di ponti (Pinot Grigio, Italy), Belle Jardin (Sparkling, France), Hi! (Prosecco, Italy), Nik Weis (Urban Riesling, Germany), Laudun Chusclan (Rose, France), Domaine du Theron Cahors (Malbec, France), Chono (Pinot Noir, Chile), and more! And fear not: Ciders aren't to be left out! Expect to see Jack's Cider, Original Sin, Cider Brothers, Sonoma Cider, and Crown Valley representin' the sweet and sour! Food trucks will be at the event, but you're also welcome to bring your own food. (No drinks will be allowed into the event, except unopened bottles of water). HOW MUCH: There are four types of tickets: Session 1 (1-4 p.m. $54.95), Session 1 VIP ($74.95), Session 2 (5-8 p.m,), and Session 2 VIP. VIP tickets give you an early entrance by 30 minutes, a dedicated entrance with no wait, VIP bathrooms, full pours of designated brews and wines, and a signature koozie lanyard.
