Tim Tebow joined Florida basketball at the White House Wednesday to celebrate the national title, where President Donald Trump glowingly praised the Gators legend.

The Florida basketball team gathered for the final time to celebrate its national championship in the nation's grandest venue.

The Gators visited President Donald Trump and the White House on Wednesday afternoon, May 21. Joining the squad at the White House and on stage was an icon of the athletic program: Tim Tebow .

The Heisman Trophy winner, two-time national champion and one of the greatest college football players of all-time, Tebow has been in Washington DC and on Capitol Hill all week to lobby to Congress about the Renewed Hope Act, a bipartisan bill that hopes to combat online child sexual exploitation with the help of the Department of Homeland Security.

As such, Trump invited Tebow to the ceremony, where the President offered glowing words for the former QB.

Trump called Tebow an NFL legend and one of the best college players he's ever seen, while jabbing his hometown New York Jets .

"You did damn well in the pros, despite being on the Jets," Trump said.

Tebow played for the Jets in 2012, where he played in 10 games and threw for 39 yards and rushed for another 102.

Drafted in the first round, 25th overall, by the Denver Broncos in the 2010 NFL Draft, his biggest pro success came in 2011 when he led the Broncos to a memorable playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and threw for 1,729 yards and rushed for another 660 with 15 total touchdowns in 11 starts.

Trump continued by calling Tebow a "terrific guy" and a "winner."

"Nobody did that," Trump said in regards to Tebow's success at Florida . "He goes down as one of the greatest college football players. We can only base that on results, right Tim?"

Trump spoke for about 15 minutes during the ceremony before Todd Golden said a few words about Florida's recent title-winning season.
