It was easy to get lost in his vivid prose, to sympathize with or get frustrated with his characters and their actions, and to enjoy the old-time jokes that he would sneak into his works. The Folger Shakespeare Library is a Shakespeare-lover's paradise! The library has the world's largest collection of Shakespeare-related materials, from his time period to ours,
according to the website! They display these materials -- books, prints, and manuscripts -- in exhibitions that can change from time to time. Can you imagine being close enough to touch Shakespeare's first folio?
The fun doesn't stop there though. The library also holds performances in their Folger Theatre and has events going on throughout the year! For the famous wordsmith's birthday, they're hosting a
free event that includes performances, demonstrations, and so much more!
