Brian Stokes Mitchell makes his grand return to the Lone Tree Arts Center on October 14 for Simply Broadway, a can't-miss musical event!
Two-time Tony Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell will appear in concert on October 14, at the Lone Tree Arts Center. This will be the second time the accomplished singer has performed at Lone Tree; he was the first artist to perform back at the Arts Center's Opening Gala in 2011. Seats are going fast, so make sure you purchase your tickets before they're gone! Mitchell has a vast and impressive career that spans Broadway, television/film, and concert appearances. He has received Tony, Drama Desk, and Out Critics Circle awards for his role in Kiss Me, Kate. The singer has also been nominated for a Tony for his performances in Man of La Mancha, August Wilson's King Hedley II, and Ragtime. Last year, Mitchell returned to Broadway in Shuffle Along, earned his most recent Tony Award for his work as Chairman of the Board of the Actor's Fund, and was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame.
Mark Hummel, the Music Director/Conductor/Dance Music Arranger for Disney's Newsies, will be accompanying Mitchell. Hummel has an equally impressive career, having written arrangements for Hugh Jackman; Back on Broadway and dance music for Sister Act (both Broadway and worldwide). He also took on the role of Music Director for the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular, composing three songs for its 75th celebration back in 2007.
