Every aspect of exercise is encompassed in this class to give you a complete workout. Depending on the number of people in your class, you will spend 30 percent on the treadmill, 30 percent on the rower, and 30 percent on the floor. There are different types of classes -- like power, endurance, and strength -- if you're trying to improve in a certain area. People burn up to 1,000 calories per class, and with studios around D.C., you have so many opportunities to get your sweat on!

Pure Barre

[caption id="attachment_4555" align="aligncenter" width="300"]workout A twist on the traditional workout class.[/caption] I will be the first to admit: I am not the most coordinated person in the world. So I was nervous to try Pure Barre. But the incredible instructors threw all of that out the window! They were so helpful when it came to this ballet bar-style workout class. These hour-long sessions are tightening up areas of your body in a safe way! You utilize weights, a ballet bar, stretch bands, and more. During each session, you're targeting and firming each part of your body. This is a low-impact workout that comes with high results.

NUBOXX

[caption id="attachment_4557" align="aligncenter" width="269"]workout Get out all that frustration from work![/caption] One of the newer studios in D.C., NUBOXX was quite the cardio and arm workout! After trying this class, I was sore in places I never expected to be. This group class mirrors a professional boxer's training regime. After an hour of learning how to box, strengthening your core, and improving your hand/eye coordination, you'll be hooked! There's only one studio so far in the Northeast, so stop by after work!
