WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) – The National Weather Service, along with Emergency Dispatch has confirmed a Tornado touched down in parts of Irondale Ohio, & Fairhaven West Virginia causing destruction.

Tornado reports came in just after 1am as a line of thunderstorms, with an embedded supercell, rolled on through Jefferson and Hancock counties.

Officials have confirmed that 2 homes have been completely destroyed on 157 International Drive in Hancock County. EMA says there are a lot of side roads that have power lines and trees down in the area of Shepherds Valley, and Locust Hill near Route 8.

Officials have also reported multiple closed roads due to downed trees and powerlines in the Irondale and the State Route 213 area. One resident was transported to East Liverpool Hospital as a precaution.

A full storm survey will be completed later in the day on Wednesday to access the full damage and rating of the tornado.
