EDEN PRAIRIE – Three Osakis Silverstreaks and two Minnewaska Lakers left the 2025 Minnesota State Class A Track and Field True Team Championship at Eden Prairie High School with a state title on Saturday. Zackery Bruder, Andrew Jones, and Robert Kendall won a true team state title as the Osakis boys track and field team placed fourth with 456.5 points, while Minnewaska’s Lauryn Ankeny and Jayda Kolstoe won titles as the Minnewaska girls track and field team placed fifth with 465 points. Bruder won the boys 400-meter dash (50.48), while Jones won the boys 300-meter hurdles (38.57) and Kendall won the boys 400-meter wheelchair (1:45.78). Ankeny won the girls 300-meter hurdles (46.91), while Kolstoe won the girls shot put (108’0). On top of state title wins, the Silverstreaks had many top 10 finishes. Kendall also placed second in the boys 100-meter wheelchair (23.15), the 200-meter wheelchair (42.56), and the shot put wheelchair (J10’5), while Bruder placed second in the 800-meter run (2:03.37). Trenton VanNyhuis placed second in the triple jump (43’4) and long jump (21’7). Jones placed third in the long jump (21’3). Tyler Wolbeck, Bryler Gustafson, Luke Kraemer, and Bruder placed fourth in the 4x400-meter relay (3:32.38), Jones placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.59), Bryler Gustafson placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles (42.72), and Kaleb Helberg placed fifth in the discus (135’7). Tyler Wolbeck, Bryler Gustafson, Luke Kraemer, and VanNyhuis placed sixth in the 4x200-meter relay (1:34.39). Jones placed seventh in the 200-meter dash (23.00) and VanNyhuis placed seventh in the high jump (5’8). Rounding out Osakis’ top 10 finishes, Roger Dunn, Luke Kraemer, Levi Ries, and Jaxon Christner placed ninth in the 4x800-meter relay (9:18.55), Kegan Thole, Andrew Ziesmer, Helberg, and Isaac Chisholm placed 10th in the 4x100-meter relay (47.08), and Helberg placed 10th in the shot put (42’6). In addition to Kolstoe and Ankeny’s state title wins, the Minnewaska girls team had many top 10 finishes across the board. Ella Larson, Aubrey Polzin, Maia Larson, and Olivia Danielson placed second in the 4x800-meter relay (10:14.73), and Danielson placed second in the 800-meter run (2:26.11). Aubrey Polzin, Nori Song, Danielson, and Ankeny placed third in the 4x400-meter relay (4:12.98), and Song placed third in the 1600-meter run. Kolstoe placed fourth in the discus (108’0), Ankeny placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.76), and Lexi Bosek placed fourth in the pole vault (8’0). Mya VanLuik placed fifth in the 200-meter dash (27.00). Song placed sixth in the 800-meter run (2:32.06), Lyla Stadtherr placed sixth in the high jump (5’0), and Dacia Fleury placed sixth in the triple jump (33’7.25). Rounding out Minnewaska’s top 10 finishes, Dacia Fleury placed 10th in the 200-meter dash (27.50), and Emma Hellerman, Ellie Winter, Payton Andreas, and Allison Curry placed 10th in the 4x100-meter relay (55.88). St. Charles won the boys Class A True Team State Championship team title with a score of 568.5, while Cotter/Hope won the girls Class A True Team State Championship team title with a score of 543.5 points. Minnewaska hosts a sub-section meet at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Osakis is competing in this sub-section meet as well.
