The Alexandria boys and girls track and field teams continued their strong starts to the 2025 season with top-end finishes at the Monticello Invitational on Tuesday. The Alexandria girls team won its meet with a team score of 184.5, while the boys team placed second with 139.5 points. Payten Kor, Alison Krasky, Esryn Dahl, and Kaija Schneider won the girls 4x100-meter relay (50.59), while Emma Bassen, Johanna Kjolhaug, Mila Warzecha, and Kasey Soderholm won the 4x400-meter relay (4:12.19). Soderholm won the 3200-meter run (11:25.75), Lydia Oldenkamp won the shot put (41’3), and Eloise Homelvig won the high jump (5’2). Elliott Kent’s win in the 400-meter dash (51.06) and Otto Anderson’s win in the 300-meter hurdles (39.81) led the Alexandria boys. Becker won the boys team title by two and a half points over Alexandria. Alexandria hosts the Alexandria Relays at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29.

Osakis makes the most of first visit to Benson in several years
The Osakis boys and girls track and field teams stole the show in Benson on Tuesday. Osakis won the boys team title with 235.5 points, and the girls team won first place with 193 points. The Osakis boys team earned 12 first place finishes, while the girls team was led by Harlie Schwope’s first place finish on the pole vault (11’0). Trenton VanNyhuis, Andrew Jones, Tyler Wolbeck, and Zackery Bruder won the 4x200-meter relay (1:32.48), Bruder, Jones, Wolbeck, and Bryler Gustafson won the 4x400-meter relay (3:30.46), and Roger Dunn, Luke Kraemer, Jaxon Christner, and Levi Ries won the 4x800-meter relay (9:40.09). Bruder also won the 400-meter dash (51.43), while Gustafson won the 110-meter hurdles (17.27), Jones won the 300-meter hurdles (40.47) and the long jump (21’0). Caiden Knox won the shot put (40’4.5) and Kaleb Helberg won the discus (144’05). Minnewaska girls win in Barnesville, Minnewaska boys take second
The Minnewaska boys and girls track and field teams both earned a total of 13 first place finishes in a meet in Barnesville on Tuesday. The Minnewaska girls won the team title with 153.83 points with seven first place finishes, while the Minnewaska boys team placed second with 166 points with six first place finishes. Dacia Fleury, Nori Song, Olivia Danielson, and Lauryn Ankeny won the girls 4x400-meter relay (4:17.38), while Maia Larson, Nori Song, Ankeny, and Danielson won the 4x800-meter relay (10:22.80). Danielson won the 800-meter run (2:28.51), Ankeny won the 300m hurdles (47.26), Jayda Kolstoe won the shot put (44’0) and the discus (122’11). WCA teams take eighth at BBE Lions Meet
Third place finishes by Isaac Allen in the boys 200-meter dash (26.16) and Jeremy Blascyk in the shot put (41’5) led the West Central Area boys track and field team in the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Lions Meet on Tuesday. The WCA boys team had 28 points. Holdingford won the team title with 272 points. A fourth place finish in the high jump by Keira Gehrke (4’6), and by Keyenna Gehrke, Natalea Olson, Karleigh Brendemoen, and Mya Foslien in the 4x200-meter relay (2:03.68) led the WCA girls team in its eighth place finish. ACCS boys team takes ninth at Heartland Invitational
The Alexandria Community Christian School competed at the Heartland Invitational in Park Rapids and was led by Jeremiah Oleson’s fifth place finish in the boys 110-meter hurdles (18.41). The ACCS boys team place ninths with five meet points. Park Rapids won the boys team title with 241.5 points and the girls title with 206 points.
