You'll feel like you're in France when you bite into these authentic Belgian chocolate croissants!

I usually like to review newish items at TJ's, and these little flaky puffs of heaven have been around for a while, but they're just too good not to write about. I love croissants, but since I live in Maryland's suburbs, I don't have a lot of options for amazing, fresh pastries. Fortunately, my favorite grocery store chain has found a solution.

Found in the frozen food section, Trader Joe's 4 Chocolate Croissants taste like the real deal. The best part is, they're easy to make! All it takes is a little forethought the night before. You open up the package, lay them seam side down on a baking sheet (either lightly buttered or with a piece of parchment paper) and let them rise overnight!

In the morning, you pop them in a preheated 350-degree oven for 20-25 minutes, and voila, you have authentic French-inspired croissants without ever leaving your house. The directions on the box say to brush them with egg wash, but personally I've never done this step, and they taste just fine to me. You do want to make sure they're a golden brown though, so if they look pretty light, make sure to pop them in for a few more minutes.

After letting them rest for 10 minutes, take a bite, and drift off to your happy place. If chocolate is not your thing, they also make an almond version that's pretty delicious as well. I have yet to try their 8 Mini Croissants, but that's next on my list!

The serving size for the chocolate croissants is only one, but if you decide to have two, I won't tell anyone! At $4.99 a box, you're only paying $1.25 per croissant, which in my opinion, is totally worth it.

Do you love croissants? If so, what do you think of Trader Joe's version? Let us know in the comments!
