SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man is facing charges after two children were killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash just outside of Springfield, according to Smokey Barn News.

Smokey Barn News said the crash happened Friday evening in the 4700 block of Highway 161 around 7:22 p.m.

The Robertson County EMS Director, Brent Dyer, told Smokey Barn News a man was driving the car with two children inside.

THP said Mansfield was driving west on Highway 161 when he drove off the right side of the roadway and hit a culvert. After the initial crash, THP said the car went airborne and hit a utility pole.

The man refused medical attention, and the two children, aged four and seven, died at the scene, officials said.

The man, 36-year-old Lukas Mansfield, is facing two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of driving under the influence, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) and booking records.

7-year-old Miah Mansfield and her 4-year-old brother, Jackson Mansfield, were identified as the two killed in the crash, SBN said.

THP is investigating the crash.
