WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - The City of Wichita Falls, known widely in the cycling community for its annual Hotter’N Hell Hundred race, now has two government buildings designated as Bicycle Friendly Businesses.

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District at 1700 3rd Street and the Animal Services Center at 1207 Hatton Road have earned the designation, bestowed by the League of American Bicyclists.

“At the heart of every new and renewing Bicycle Friendly Business is a commitment to something greater—community, sustainability, and well-being, to name a few,” Bill Nesper, Executive Director of the League of American Bicyclists, said. “We’re proud to celebrate Animal Services and the Health District for their ongoing efforts to champion cycling both within their workplace and in the world around them.”

There are 1,233 Bicycle Friendly Businesses across the country, with different levels of the honor. Wichita Falls’ Health District earned a silver designation, while Animal Services got a bronze designation.
