Howard County Police announced that two separate vehicle crashes resulted in the death of two individuals. On January 31 at around 10:45 p.m., the driver, an adult female, was passing Kings Post Court when it failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and struck a tree, officials reported. The female was pronounced dead after being transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma. Additionally, officials reported that a minor child was also in the vehicle and was transported to a hospital for a checkup, but no further information was given regarding the child. Then at around 1:30 a.m. on February 1, Police reported that an adult male driver was traveling the 8000 block of Washington Boulevard when it struck another vehicle that was entering the roadway from a Super 8 Motel. The male driver then struck a telephone police and ultimately died on the scene, according to police. The other vehicle did not remain on the scene. Howard County Police are investigating all possible factors in both accidents, which include speed and weather conditions.
