At 8:30 a.m. May 4, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of two males who were breaking into a Kia vehicle parked in the area of Chelton Road and Scottsdale Boulevard. Officers responded and observed damage to the vehicle. Police located the suspects, a 16-year-old Warrensville Heights boy and an 18-year-old Euclid man, and arrested them for criminal trespassing and theft. At 10:30 p.m. May 2, a Cleveland man, 31, reported that someone stole his work truck that he had parked in the 3000 block of Pennington Road. At 11:50 a.m. May 2, a Cleveland woman, 32, reported that an unknown male suspect stole her 11-year--old son’s bicycle that he had left unsecured outside the Shaker Heights Library, 16500 Van Aken Boulevard. At 1:25 a.m. May 3, officers observed a Dodge vehicle traveling at high speed and weaving while in the 3000 block of Lee Road. A traffic stop was conducted and it was learned that the driver, an East Cleveland man, 59, was intoxicated. After he failed field sobriety testing, the man was arrested for OVI. He submitted a breath alcohol sample of .95, above the state minimum for drunk driving of .08. Police additionally charged the man with having a prohibited blood-alcohol content. At 3:05 a.m. May 4, officers observed a Ford vehicle that was traveling with but one working headlight while in the area of Shaker Boulevard and Warrensville Center Road. Officers stopped the vehicle, smelled alcohol and found the driver, a Maple Heights man, 35, to be drunk. The man failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI. He submitted a breath alcohol sample of .135 and was further charged with having a prohibited BAC. At 2:30 a.m. May 5, officers observed a Ford vehicle commit a traffic violation at Lee Road and Lomond Boulevard. A traffic stop was conducted and it was learned that the driver, a Cleveland woman, 35, was intoxicated. The woman did not pass field sobriety testing and was arrested for OVI. She refused to submit to a breath test. At 10:50 a.m. May 5, officers were notified by Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority police that a 28-year-old Warrensville Heights man had been detained. The man was wanted by Shaker Heights police for aggravated menacing. SHPD officers confirmed the warrant and took custody of the man. At 12:35 p.m. May 5, officers were dispatched to the UPS store located at 16781 Chagrin Blvd., where a 51-year-old Cleveland man reported that an unknown suspect stole an iPhone and iPad, valued collectively at $3,000 collectively, that he had mailed from the store. At 12:30 a.m. May 6, officers observed a Chevrolet vehicle travel through a red light at the intersection of Lee Road and Van Aken Boulevard, and then continue westbound in the eastbound lanes of Van Aken Boulevard. Officers stopped the vehicle, smelled alcohol, and observed that the driver, a Lorain woman, 33, was drunk. The woman failed field sobriety testing and was arrested for OVI. She declined to provide a breath sample. At 2:25 p.m. May 6, police learned from an automated license plate reader that the owner of a Ford vehicle being operated in the area of Ludlow and South Woodland roads was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for felony domestic violence. Officers stopped the vehicle, confirmed the warrant, and arrested the man, 44, of Cleveland. He was then surrendered to Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s deputies. At 12:50 a.m. May 8, officers observed a Chevrolet vehicle that had collided against a tree in the area of Milverton and Westbury roads. Officers summoned medical attention and approached the vehicle. The woman in the driver’s seat was seen attempting to get out of the car. Officers stopped the woman and, while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical services, smelled alcohol. Upon being cleared for injuries, the woman was tested for drunk driving. She failed and was arrested for OVI. She declined to provide a breath sample. At 11 p.m. May 8, officers were dispatched to the 7/11-BP store at 20420 Chagrin Blvd., where an employee reported that a 32-year-old Highland Hills man who had been trespassed and evaded police on two previous occasions, had returned to the store.
