Frankie & Jo's is a plant-based ice cream shop with lots of mouth-watering flavors, which rotate seasonally. Carrot Cake ice cream? Yes, please!

Salt & Straw: Locations in Oregon, California, Florida, Washington, and Nevada

Salt & Straw is another super cool ice cream spot with some wild flavors. I remember seeing the spot on TV years ago, and when I went to Portland recently, I knew it was a must-visit. As bizarre as it sounds, the Pear & Blue Cheese flavor was really enjoyable. They also have dairy-free options.

La Provence Petite Provence: Locations in Oregon and Washington

For an array of delightful French pastries, check out La Provence Petite Provence. From macarons to Pain au Chocolat, this bakery will transport you to the countryside villages in and around Provence, France, with every bite.

La Panadería: Locations in San Antonio, Texas

Opened by two brothers in 2014, La Panadería offers very special baked goods inspired by Mexico's Golden Era and French, Italian, and American techniques.

Just one glance at the whole pie menu from Rood Food Pie sparks a thought I rarely entertain: "I feel like visiting Ohio." (Sorry, Ohioans). The Chocolate Tahini Custard and Peanut Butter pies are calling to me, but the whole menu looks amazing. Honestly, I'll take one of everything.

Mason's Creamery: Cleveland, OH

We're staying in Ohio for this next one, and this time, we're having ice cream. Mason's Creamery offers both classic and unique flavors, meaning that everyone in your group will find a flavor they love. Mason's Creamery was even featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives!

Purple Pie Place: Custer, North Dakota

Purple Pie Place is only open during the summer and fall, which makes it extra special. They serve hundreds of slices a week and offer whole pies as well. The purple building is also super cute!

If you're in Salt Lake, check out Eva's Bakery. A friend of mine told me, "This place had an insane cinnamon roll I still think about." Enough said.

Sugar Bakery: East Haven, Connecticut

Cupcake lovers, add this one to your bucket list. The same friend who raved about the cinnamon rolls above said that Sugar Bakery had the "best cupcakes I've ever had." From Cookie Dough to Oreo Dirt, the options here are awesome. They even have gluten-free and vegan cupcakes!

Oakmont Bakery: Oakmont, Pennsylvania

Oakmont Bakery is a favorite among many people in the Pittsburgh area. You must get some of their black-and-white cookies.

Traveling the U.S. offers a glimpse into the diverse cultures and sceneries and a taste of the sweet ingenuity found in every corner. From the unique plant-based delights of Frankie & Joe's to the French-inspired offerings of La Provence Petite Provence, each destination encapsulates a story, an experience, waiting to be savored. Remember that these sweet spots are more than just eateries; they are cherished local treasures that elevate the simple joy of dessert into unforgettable memories.

So, pack your bags (and appetite) and set off on a sweet adventure!
